The Cirrus SR20 and SR22 aircraft are two very exciting new aircraft designs. The SR20 is a 200HP fixed gear aircraft that performs a little better than our Mooney M20E. The SR22 is a 310HP high performance machine that can carry a large useful load to up around the the 200 MPH mark.
These aircraft are thoroughly modern in every way. They have state-of-the-art avionics, composite construction, excellent aerodynamics, and they incorporate all of the latest safety equipment -- including, of course, the Cirrus Airframe Parachute system.
An SR20 can be had for around $200,000, while an SR22 will run about $300,000.
