Cessna continues to emphasize the tried and true, easy to fly, roomy, airplane that you can land almost anywhere. These are basically the airplanes that you learned to fly in -- but better. They have state-of-the-art avionics, plush interiors, improved aerodynamics, and more horsepower that gives better cruise and climb speeds than their predecessors. The 182 comes in a turbocharged model that will hit 200mph up in the low flight levels.
A reasonably equipped 172SP starts at about $180K, where a well equipped 182 will come in around $280K. Adding a turbo will add about $40K to the Skylane's price.
