The Cessna 182 may well be the most preferred workhorse of the General Aviation fleet. The 182 is a 4 seater where you can usually fill up the seats, fill up the tanks, pack in the bags, and go fly. With 235 HP, this aircraft offers a good useful load, reasonable cruise speeds, and a decent rate of climb. Yet the 182 retains most of the Cessna 172's docile (if not a bit sluggish) flight characteristics. A transitioning 172 pilot needs to learn how to use a constant speed prop and fly at slightly higher airspeeds.
