The Piper Archer is the latest in a long line of the Piper Cherokee series. Cherokees have ranged from 140 HP to over 235 HP. The Cherokee 6 was a six place version of the Cherokee. An Archer like the one pictured above would be an ideal candidate for the flying club's basic aircraft.
